Volunteer Role Description
To assist with triage duties at NKF's dialysis centres
Commitment between Mondays and Saturdays
Duration of each session (hrs): 1.5 to 2.5 hrs
Session start time: (a) 6.30am; (b) 11.00am; (c) 4.00pm
Session end time: (a) 8.00am; (b) 1.30pm; (c) 6.00pm
Minimum commitment period: At least 2 months and at least 8 shifts

Willing to perform ART self-test before each deployment to the centre

Attend a compulsory 1-day in-person training on either a Thursday or Saturday
Commit to at least 2 months and be able to perform at least 8 shifts (you can either choose to perform one or multiple shifts on the same day)

What is required of the job: Able to converse in English and Mandarin, Able to connect with seniors, patient with strong interpersonal skills
Responsibilities / Assignments: Make 1 phone call every fortnight to one or two seniors preferably on weekdays mornings or afternoons and engage in conversation of mutual interest, offering support and guidance. Volunteer has to provide regular updates of conversation to Programme Manager. Volunteers will be using their own phone to dial the seniors. Each call can take about ten to thirty minutes.

Project Vigil Angel aims to provide a very dignified death for the dying clients and leaving behind a comforting memory for the bereaved families
To partner a nurse to provide basic nursing care for clients and respite care for the family
