Volunteer Role Description

  • Will need to conduct home visits/Medical Escort

  • Ad-Hoc activities: non-medical escorts services

Volunteer Specifications

  • Age: 17 and above

  • Gender: Both

  • Experience: Basic befriending skills. Comfortable speaking to Seniors. Committed and has accountability (i.e. respond timely back caseworker)

  • Skills:Basic literacy - writing

  • Fluent in Tamil / Malay

  • Certificatiton: No certification required

  • Minimum service: 1 - 2 times per month. (1 hours per session, exclude travelling to and fro)

  • At least 1 training before commencing session.

  • Language: Tamil/Malay

Project - E-learning Module

National Healthcare Group Polyclinics (NHGP)

Volunteer Role Description

  • Collaborate with the Service Leadership and Patient Relations (SLPR) divison to develop a browser based virtual platform for staff on effective service communication.

  • Effective communication with patients and their caregivers is the cornerstone of a family-centered care. This project will allow staff in the polyclinics to journey through the various touch points of a patient/caregiver when going for an appointment at the polyclinic.

  • This virtual platform will allow staff to empathise in the shoe of a patient or caregiver, and to learn the importance of effective communication during handover of service point. The learning will help enhance the care and services provided in the polyclinics.

Volunteer Specifications

  • You will need experience in multimedia software, gamining software and information technology.

  • Commitment; to volunteer through the whole project (i.e. pre-planning, development to post-review)

  • You will work remotely on projects and is expected to have access to your own laptop / computer.

  • Maintain close contact with Reporting Supervisor.

Surveyor for Community Needs Assessment

Volunteer Role Description

  • Door knocking to seniors staying within the targeted block to do a short survey on the needs and strength of seniors

Volunteer Specifications

  • Age: 18 and above

  • Gender: Both

  • Experience: For 18 to 21 years old preferably gerontology and/or social work trained

  • Skills: Basic literacy - writing and/or read, able to use phone/tablet to fill up forms, able to engage basic conversation with seniors

  • Minimum service: Preferably to be able to volunteer At least 2-3 times after training

  • At least 1 training before commencing field work

  • Language: English/Mandarin/Malay/Tamil/Dialects

Transport Escort (CCSS - Community Health)

Care Corner Service Centre

Volunteer Role Description

  • Starting in July for a period as long as the volunteer can commit. A period of 2months minimally is preferred.

  • Upon confirmation, volunteer will work with the centre manager on which date/time slots to take on.

  • Centre will be providing a quick training on the tasks required and will provide thermometer for temperature taking.

Volunteer are required to assist in the transport of the seniors to and/or fro Care Corner Active Ageing Hub Toa Payoh West @ Blk 131 Lorong 1 Toa Payoh #01-01 Singapore 310131.


0715hrs to 1030hrs - AM Shift
1530hrs to 1700hrs - PM Shift


Volunteers can choose between am or pm shift on weekdays and let centre staff know.

Volunteers will need to:

  1. Report to assign seniors block/void deck @ 0715Hrs (AM Shift only)

  2. Report to care corner active ageing hub (Toa Payoh West) @ 1530Hrs (PM Shift only)

  3. Assist seniors up and down of the transport

  4. Take temperature of the seniors before they board the transport.

Volunteer Specifications


1. Volunteer must be physically able to help senior up and down transport.

2. Volunteer is able to preferably to be able to speak Mandarin as most of the seniors are Chinese speaking.
