Volunteer Role Description
Volunteer to engage seniors via 2 face-to-face interaction and 2 phone calls per month minimally to prevent social isolation, monitor senior's well-being, and provide socioemotional support.
Exact dates/times of volunteer to be decided and agreed by both the staff in-charge and the volunteer. However, to promote familiarity and bonding between the senior and volunteer, volunteers are expected to at least commit regularly (once per fortnight)

- Be patient, polite, sensitive and respectful to the needs of seniors, and be able to discern appropriate conversation topics.
- Able to complete online feedback form within 24 hours after engagement with senior (applicable for phone/off-site befriending)
- Proactive, responsible and accountable for other minor tasks assigned.
- Preferably 18 years old and above (Students, Working Adults, Retirees, Seniors)
- No specific gender
- Strict adherence to the current COVID-19 precautionary measures.
- Should the volunteer be unwell or receive text messages from MOH regarding their close contact with a positive COVID-19 case, the volunteer will have to inform the staff-in-charge and not proceed on to volunteer until he/she is cleared.
- Able to commit for a minimum of 3-month period.

Volunteer Role Description
To build good rapport with rental household and concurrently conduct needs assessment interview to understand the needs of rental household for curation of future assistance programme.
Disbursement of vouchers and signing of consent & acknowledgement forms at the household when physical session is possible.
Befriending rental household to encourage them to be involved in planned focus group discussion (FGD) and ComLink community programme.
With volunteers' support and wider outreach to ComLink families, the needs analysis and Focus Group Discussions could be completed within the specified timeline and assistance programmes could be introduced in a timely manner. The rental households would also benefit with having a group of dedicated befrienders that could journey with them and provide constant support to participate in positive interventions.

Mobile and are able to carry out activities (e.g. home visits) without affecting any past or existing injuries and/or illnesses
Proficient in English and at least one other Mother Tongue (Malay, Mandarin, Tamil or dialects); knowledge in any of the South East Asian languages is a plus factor due to the profile of some of our residents
Have a keen passion in serving and uplifting the lives of individuals and/or families in need.

Volunteer Role Description
To assist in measuring blood pressure (BP) for Parkinson patients (before & after exercise class). Volunteers will be trained to possess knowledge & assist.
To assist & ensure Parkinson patients exercise correctly during class
To assist Physiotherapist (PT) & Physiotherapy Assistant (TA) in retrieving/keeping exercise equipment before & after each class
To assist PT / TA in carrying out specific tasks such as but not limited to:
Attend to & monitor 1 or more members exercising on gym machines
In charge of conducting 1 circuit exercise station as prescribed by PT / TA
To carry out wipedown procedure after each class (chairs, equipment, BP machines, gym machines etc.)

Impact of the role
There is currently no cure for those with Parkinson, but engaging in regular exercise and doing it safely has shown to ease symptoms and enhance their quality of life. Thus we want to raise more awareness and educate others about Parkinson by supporting our local Parkinson community holistically in their journey with Parkinson; and our volunteers will provide them with the help and support they need, especially in a safer environment.
We hope to also establish a social and community network of support for Parkinson patients and their caregivers.
Volunteer Specifications
Mature and have a heart to serve the patients. Friendly disposition.
Physically fit with no major back or knee injury. He/she is required at times to be able to support elderly in walking and exercises.
Attire required: Volunteers can wear their own clothes suitable for exercise movements, and are required to wear long pants for easier movement during exercises.
