Volunteer Role Description
Volunteer to engage seniors via 2 face-to-face interaction and 2 phone calls per month minimally to prevent social isolation, monitor senior's well-being, and provide socioemotional support.
Exact dates/times of volunteer to be decided and agreed by both the staff in-charge and the volunteer. However, to promote familiarity and bonding between the senior and volunteer, volunteers are expected to at least commit regularly (once per fortnight)

- Be patient, polite, sensitive and respectful to the needs of seniors, and be able to discern appropriate conversation topics.
- Able to complete online feedback form within 24 hours after engagement with senior (applicable for phone/off-site befriending)
- Proactive, responsible and accountable for other minor tasks assigned.
- Preferably 18 years old and above (Students, Working Adults, Retirees, Seniors)
- No specific gender
- Strict adherence to the current COVID-19 precautionary measures.
- Should the volunteer be unwell or receive text messages from MOH regarding their close contact with a positive COVID-19 case, the volunteer will have to inform the staff-in-charge and not proceed on to volunteer until he/she is cleared.

Volunteer Role Description
When children are being read stories, there are many benefits they gain. We are therefore looking for volunteers to read to our children with learning and special needs, ranging from K1 to P6. The programme aims to spread that joy of stories and reading to these children so that they can reap the benefits too.
The 12-week programme will be held over Zoom, with each session lasting about 45 minutes to 1 hour. The session timing is flexible; volunteers will liaise with the family to set their sessions.
The sessions will either be on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Volunteers committing on a fortnightly basis will be grouped with others on a similar schedule, and will rotate with the other group to read to the assigned beneficiary.

Volunteer Specifications & Additional Information
Age: 16 years old and above. An adult must accompany interested volunteers who are under the age requirement.
Have a good command of the English language. They need to be able to read fluently, with good pronunciation and enunciation.
Volunteers are to volunteer in pairs or in groups of 4. Volunteers who sign up alone will be paired up. Each pair will have at least 1 female volunteer.
Able to commit weekly for 12 weeks (or 6 weeks in groups of 4). The timing for reading is flexible and up to the volunteers to arrange with the families.
Comfortable with using Zoom to engage and read to children. Training will be provided to familiarise volunteers with the usage of Zoom.
